"I really enjoyed working on this piece of a young, maturing male lion at about 18 months of age. I find lions at this age particularly interesting to observe as they begin crossing the line from cub and inching towards the apex predators they will inevitably become. I tried being extra soft with the pencil treatment in certain areas where the beginnings of his mane are starting to show."
