"I thought this particular position would make for an interesting drawing, giving me the chance to illustrate the foreshortened perspective of her body as she faces away from me. This also allowed me to draw the muscles in her hind quarters as her back legs are tucked underneath her. It's been mentioned that if you come across a lion with it's back legs in this position, rather than sprawled out and relaxed to it's side, just be aware that they are spring loaded and ready to come for you if they wish. Something to be mindful of in lion country."
